Last year an editorial project by AlbumArte won the eighth edition of the Italian Council. Now after lock downs and various museum closures, we can finally make the first presentation.

On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 6pm, as part of the collateral activities of the 2020 Art Quadriennale, AlbumArte presents in the Sala Cinema of Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome the project ALL BOOM ARTEItalian artists at AlbumArte 2011 – 2020, curated by Cristina Cobianchi, realized thanks to the support of the Italian Council (VIII edition 2020) program of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture for the promotion of Italian contemporary art in the world.

This first presentation of the project (that we are able to realize only today because of the closures of the museums, due to the Covid 19 containment rules) that will lead to the publication of a 484 pages volume in double Italian and English version, to be released in September 2021, published by Quodlibet, wants to explain the very assumptions of the publication, that is AlbumArte and all its vital community of artists, curators, enthusiasts, students, its exhibitions, its projects. During the debate we will take the opportunity to reflect on the role of independent spaces in Italy today.

The editorial project winner of the eighth edition of the Italian Council (2020) ALL BOOM ARTE wants to signal, also to the international public, the presence of a group of artists who animate the contemporary scene today, giving shape to the artistic ferment in a non-profit context, which has become over time, a vital and inclusive platform.

The publication of the volume will give voice to the protagonists of this aggregative phenomenon still in progress, which has involved and continues to involve artists, curators and experts, focusing on artists, on their research, on their work, privileging their point of view.

The book will illustrate all the activities that AlbumArte has carried out from 2011 to 2020: the Italian artists abroad with AlbumArte (Anteprima) AlbumArte|VideoArtForum | the performances | the project Donne (non più) anonime – conversation on femicide | the exhibitions. In addition, a section of the book will be dedicated to 18 unpublished conversations between the artists and curators.

The project also includes the presentation of the book in Italy and in a tour of seven stages abroad, in the presence of an artist coming from Italy and accompanied by parallel artistic events realized by the hosting institution.
