Elisa Del Prete (Bologna, 1978) is curator, author and producer in contemporary visual art.
From 2006 to 2016 she directs in Bologna Nosadella.due, the first private residency program in Italy dedicated to international artists and curators, of which she is the founder and through which she creates a network of international exchanges for artists as well as working with them in the production of new works where they were invited to test formats, practices and spaces.
In 2008 she is visiting curator in Helsinki invited by FRAME, in 2009 at the Platform Garanti in Istanbul and at Komplot in Brussels, in 2016 in Poland invited by Polish Institute in Rome. She curates the Visual Arts section of the Gender Bender Festival in Bologna presenting, in 2008, a focus on Finnish artists and, in 2011, a widespread personal exhibition by Marta Dell’Angelo. In 2012 she presented at MAMbo the first Italian solo exhibition of the South African artist Bridget Baker. Together with Silvia Litardi in 2018 she won the second edition of Italian Council for the creation of a new work by Flavio Favelli and, with Rubina Romanelli and Sara Zolla as well, gave life to NOS Visual Arts Production, an organization dedicated to artistic production in which the curator’s sensitivity and concreteness of the producer come together.
Graduated with a thesis in Cultural Heritage developed at the Warburg Institute of London (published in 2009 with Mondadori), she specializes in issues related to iconology and the transmission of visual culture. She now writes texts for catalogs and exhibitions as well as collaborating with the online publishing project doppiozero.com, for which she edited a short monographic essay on William Kentridge.
