Margherita Moscardini

Margherita Moscardini  (Donoratico Italy, 1981) graduated from the Accademia of Belle Arti of Bologna and attended various workshops, among them: the Advanced Course in Visual Arts of fondazione Ratti, Como, visiting professor Yona Friedman (2008) and Peter Friedl’s workshop at the Foundation Spinola Banna in Turin (2009). She has been artist in residency at the: CCA Andratx, Mallorca, SP (2010), CCA Art Today, Plovdiv (BG) (2010-2011),  Citè International des Arts, Paris (2012),  Fondazione Pastificio Cerere Rome (2012).

Among her solo exhibitions are: Atlas. On the human Condition, Places and Times, Ex Elettrofonica, Rome (2016); Istanbul City Hills, Italian Institute of Culture, Istanbul TK (upcoming); Annexe – 1XUnknown, Exelettrofonica Rome, 1XUnknown, Annexe – 1XUnknown  Macro, Rome (2012),  A project for the Ancient Bath, CCA Artoday, Plovdiv, BG (2010), Terza Stanza, SpazioA, Pistoia, IT (2008); Among her group exibhitions :  Public Improvisation, Careof, Fabbrica del Vapore, Milano (2008); In Full Bloom, Galleria Raffaella Cortese, Kaleidoscope project space, Milan (2010);  EmergingTalents 2011, CCCStrozzina, Palazzo Strozzi, Firenze (2011), Premio Ariane de Rothschild, Palazzo Reale, Milano (2011);

She won in 2014 the New York Prize, done by the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies of Columbia University.

She won in 2007 the first edition of the Pinacoteca Giovanni and Marella Agnelli Award  realising a permanent work in the prison of Le Vallette Turin IT. Recently won a public race done by the city of Bergamo for a permanent intervention in a public space of the city.

Since 2016 she has worked at The Fountains of Za’atari, studying refugee camps as a city starting from Za’atari’s camp, born in 2012 in Jordan in a desert area on the Syrian border. Over the years Moscardini has collaborated with different realities such as: ISCP, New York; MMCA, Seoul; AlbumArte, Rome; Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America, Columbia University, New York. Her work was recently presented at the Maramotti Collection, Reggio Emilia; Pastificio Cerere Foundation, Rome; MAXXI – National Museum of XXI century Arts; MACRO – Contemporary Art Museum of Rome; SongEun ArtSpace, Seoul, Korea; CCA, Plovdiv, Bulgaria; MAMbo – Modern Art Museum of Bologna.
