Adrian Paci is the artist selected by AMACI to create the guiding image of the 10th Day of Contemporary Art (October 11th, 2014), the largest annual event dedicated to the art of our time and its public. In recent years, this event has involved artists such as, Michelangelo Pistoletto in 2006, Maurizio Cattelan in 2007, Paola Pivi in 2008, Luigi Ontani in 2009, Stefano Arienti in 2010, Giulio Paolini in 2011, Francesco Vezzoli in 2012 and Marzia Migliora in 2013.
Adrian Paci – Albanian by birth but Italian by adoption – was chosen to testify that art transcends borders and nationalities, contributing to the process of growth and maturation of every civilized society.
Travel and detachment are the themes on the basis of ‘Greeters’, the image chosen by the artist as a symbol of the 10th Day of Contemporary Art. Two boys greet us: a gesture frozen by freeze-frame that turns the video story into a still image.
