Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna of Rome, a temple of art history and a place of great inspiration for artists of all generations, represents a situation of challenge and growth for an artist who is 28 years old, and has decided to come to grips with a classic genre like that of painting. Politi’s intervention is concentrated in some of the most important rooms of the museum (10-09-08-06-05-04), where his painting enters into relation with art from 1800 to 1885, including works on themes of mythology, history and reality. To make this immediate face-off between different types of painting possible, the GNAM has permitted Politi’s paintings to take the place of a number of works presently out on loan or being restored.
