INVITATION >>>    VIDEOARTFORUM PROJECT >>>

Margherita Morgantin inaugurates the first appointment of the event AlbumArte | VideoArtForum on WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 10th 2016, with the first public screening and debate at 7:30pm. The curator Paola Ugolini will introduce the videoforum.

Margherita Morgantin, is an internationally renowned artist who was born in Venice in 1971 and who currently lives and works in Milan.

After showing her work in Istanbul in the context of the first edition of the Anteprima project in 2011, AlbumArte is now presenting an extensive selection of her work to the public in Rome. Morgantin’s artistic research is based on the observation and description of real situations that she reinterprets by means of an imagination that verges on the wistful and dreamy. The artist constructs her stories through sequences of photographs, upon which she often draws various additional elements, which she films, using effects of fade in and fade out and then shows as video-projections. In some works the narration is accompanied by a deliberately fragmentary soundtrack, which creates a timeless effect. The concept of time in the works of the artist is very particular, becoming a hazy and muffled dimension, which enhances and expresses a range of moods that the viewer can perceive in her works by directly experiencing them. The artist uses various means of expression, such as performance art, video, drawing, photography and installations.
