On Wednesday April the 1st, coinciding with the inauguration of the special project by Flavio Favelli at the MAXXI “Gli Angeli degli Eroi” (The Angels of the Heroes), AlbumArte will announce the release of the book “Flavio Favelli – Grape Juice”, with texts by Cristina Cobianchi, Flavio Favelli, Cristiana Perrella and Vittorio Urbani, published by Maretti Editore and produced by AlbumArte and Nuova Icona.
The book talks about Flavio Favelli’s experience as artist-in-residence in Istanbul from April to May 2014 thanks to AlbumArte (with the project Anteprima#3) in addition to the exhibition Grape Juice at the end of this period, held at the Galata Rum Okulu school (from May to June 2014), in which the artist presented a new series of works created thanks to a direct relationship with the city, which he experienced at a time of particular social and political tension.
The period of residence and the exhibition were realized by: AlbumArte, the Italian Embassy in Turkey, the Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul, Yapı Kredi Cultural Activities Arts and Publishing, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Turkey. The book was published with the support of Nuova Icona and Maretti Editore.
