On March 9th, 2019 AlbumArte will inaugurate five new dates of the series of screenings of artistic films and videos AlbumArte | VideoArtForum – started in 2016, all of which will be held at Albumarte’s exhibition space in Via Flaminia (Rome), lasting until April 3rd, 2019. There will be 5 separate events, each one lasting 3 days and featuring different artists and curators.
Over the three days of each event there will be multiple screenings of each artist’s work, starting on the first evening at 7:00PM with a screening of one or more films in the presence of the filmmaker(s). They will be introduced by one or more curators and will then be freely discussed by the audience. Screenings will continue over the next two days, from 3:00 to 7:00PM.
This new edition of AlbumArte | VideoArtForum will involve: Bruno Di Marino, Adrian Paci, Paola Ugolini, Gianluca Brogna, Benedetta Carpi De Resmini, Marco Trulli and Saverio Verini, who will present films and videos by Debora Vrizzi, Zaelia Bishop / Emanuele Napolitano, John Cascone, Paola Gandolfi and a selection of young artists from Mediterranean area.
Since 2016, AlbumArte | VideoArtForum – directed by Cristina Cobianchi and coordinated by Valentina Fiore – was followed with great interest by both critics and audience. In the last two years, the project presented artists Margherita Morgantin, Driant Zeneli, Ferhat Özgür, Anna Franceschini, Francesco Jodice, Zaelia Bishop / Emanuele Napolitano, Josè Guerrero / Antonio Blanco, Elena Bellantoni, Iginio De Luca, Elisa Strinna / Junghun Kim, Sonia Andresano; and curators Paola Ugolini, Cristiana Perrella, Vittorio Urbani, Ilaria Gianni, Adriana Polveroni, Valentina Gioia Levy, Wonderlust#rome, Cecilia Canziani, Silvano Manganaro, Claudio Libero Pisano.
Once again, the project confirms the ongoing interest of AlbumArte in the field of video art, an expressive medium with which the association has been involved ever since it was founded, thanks to a series of initiatives of screening and video art exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, defining its investigation of this particular area of artistic creation as one of the most significant.
