Asking for donations and offering in return exercises in vision –through clues that you will receive digitally or by phone or by simply walking together – it is my way to connect the concept of economic value to the practice of Performance Art. I am interested in exploring a method of applying an ‘economic dignity’ to Performance Art; when it is taken as a relational and live event, in fact, it seems ontologically and historically not a sustainable form of profit, except when it is subjugated to be sold as photography, video, documentation of any kind, texts… (Chiara Mu)
Chiara Mu will support part of production costs of her project From Here to Eternity by launching a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo, which will propose – in the framework of this new form of art financing – a relationship of direct exchange between performative practices and the concept of “purchasing” them through donations. Donors will be offered exclusively the time of the artist in a ‘one to one’ relationship: exercises in vision will be offered through the urban area of Rome (but not only), starting from the Flaminio neighbourhood.
