Estibaliz Sàdaba Murguia (Bilbao, 1963) Starting from the study and the deconstruction of the most traditional female archetypes, through her works the artist contributes to the creation of a strategy against the dominant discourse, especially within the art world. She obtained a MA and a PhD in Investigación y Creación en Arte at Basque Country University (EHU/UPV). She was awarded different scholarships, among which Fundación BBVA, Beca Art I Natura di Farrera, l’Academia de España a Roma, La Cité International des Arts de Paris, Fundación Bilbaoarte, Museo Artium e Fundación Arte y Derecho. She carried out exhibitions within museums and international institutions as Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Castiglia e León (MUSAC), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, MACBA, Fundació Antoni Tàpies, CDAN – Huesca, Matadero de Madrid. She also directed different seminars and workshops on art, activism, and feminism, and she works as editor for different publications as Erreakzoia, Joyas y Caprichos and Series Multiples.
